Problem Description

How do I get the Broadcom BCM4360 Wi-Fi working on an iMac14,2 with Ubuntu 26.04?

I worked with Claude (no joy). ChatGPT solved.

Relevant System Information

I have an Apple iMac14,2 (late-2013 27-inch) running Ubuntu 26.04 GNOME.

The Wi-Fi hardware is:

Broadcom BCM4360
PCI ID: 14e4:43a0
Apple subsystem: 106b:0111
Interface: wlp3s0

The working driver on my installation is:

wl

After configuring the Broadcom driver, NetworkManager reports:

wlp3s0 wifi connected

and Wi-Fi automatically reconnects after reboot.

Useful commands for identifying the hardware are:

lspci -nnk | grep -A4 -i network
nmcli device status
rfkill list
iw dev

I am documenting this because the BCM4360 in this particular iMac can be a little difficult to identify and configure correctly.

Answer / result: On this iMac, using the wl driver resulted in a working Wi-Fi connection that survives reboot.
