How can I share a Canon LBP2900 printer from Ubuntu 24.04 to Windows PCs?

I’m on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and have my Canon LBP2900 printer connected through a USB port. I first installed the driver after getting it from:

The printer performs well on my Ubuntu system. Now I want to share it with other computers in my local network, even those running Windows.

What is the best approach to share a Canon LBP2900 from Ubuntu so that other devices can print to it?

If the printer provides it’s own print server, which should be the majority these days, it’s probably easiest to just use that from both Windows and Linux. Failing that, you can set up your Ubuntu machine as the print server:

You may try sharing your printer using cups web interface at http://localhost:631
Switch to admin tab (login with local sudo user if necessary) and visit server section.

I didn´t do this myself (and can´t try because I do not have a printer available). Just asked google ai prompt “linux share local printer with network”.
