Hello! Itunu's Introduction

Firstly, Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Now,

Hello Everyone!, Volunteers, Community members, Canonical enthusiasts and staff! I was directed here from an email response I received subsequent to my applications.

My name is Itunu Ola, pronunciation: e2nu; you can call me “Itunu” or “IT” for short. I am from Nigeria and I am a product marketing manager/growth manager, been in this role for the past 6 years, how time flies

I have a background in sciences, I’ve always been curious on how the world works, hence my degree and now I am curious on how technology works, hence my career path.

I came across Ubuntu/Canonical while ding some research at my first place of work and came to the realization that you are the backbone of almost everything technological and it was really impressive. Having to work at a company like Canonical will be fascinating as I know I would learn a whole lot of things, more things than I even knew was possible to learn.

A quick sales pitch about me:  I am a fast learner, I love learning and taking up new responsibilities and would thrive in a space like this. I love coming up with solutions to problems discovered by myself or anyone else. If I have to stay up all night to learn a concept or a skill to aid my job or help in automating some redundant process, I will.

I will be more than happy to be give the opportunity to join your growing team of experts. I am really excited to work with Canonical and contribute to the growing success of the project.

Application Background: :see_no_evil: I have applied to several roles in Canonical (I know it may seem like I am doing too much, but to me, i am just pursuing what I want) and will keep applying till I am given an opportunity to work here. I do work, not just by mouth and I work a lot, that’s why I have been growing really fast in my career and I do not switch jobs like the modern Gen Z’s/Millennials do; (No offence to those who do, I’m just an introvert who takes a while to get familiar with new people and once I do, I’d like to make connections; solid connections before moving on). Once I find my space, I learn as much as I can there.

Oh, I have been WFH since 2022, don’t know if that helps.

Recent roles applied to:

  1. Product Marketing Manager - IoT
  2. Junior Marketing Analyst

Hopefully, I do not have to update with any new applications

I am also available to answer any questions about anything and will be happy to get any advice from you guys.

Hope we are all having a great day!

Cheers :clinking_glasses:

Just got a rejection for the Junior Marketing Analyst position.

Anyways, no issues will keep on trying, Please, come to me with any product marketing question and I will be glad to answer. This would help me stay up to date with my PMM skills.

Note: I’m not claiming to be an expert, I just want to help anyway that I can. If my response is irrelevant, at least 15-45% of the responses I give will be useful to build on, I am very sure of that.
