Hello everyone! I’m Matthew and I’m from the Los Angeles area. I have been in the Linux sphere for around 7 years, but I have been very active in it for the past 2 years. It’s been a very fun time as long as I’ve been here.
I started with Linux for cybersecurity all the way back in college, but stayed with it after enjoying it so much. I first touched Kali and Ubuntu 20.04 Focal all of the way back in 2020. As time went on, I tried many other Linux variants before settling with Ubuntu and OpenSUSE Slowroll for personal use and Red Hat/Alma/Rocky for my servers. I’ve been part of the community of Ubuntu sporadically and looked at many AskUbuntu posts, but this is my first time here.
Why am I here on this forum? Well, I want to share my years of experience with Linux with the community and maybe teach a few people some things I’ve learned along the way.
I have a clearly defined goal for how I will help the community. I will do my best to be part of QA and evangelism for the project. I will also post videos about Ubuntu to my personal YouTube channel, @forensicswithmatt , my Substack named Free and Open Source Computing Weekly and my linkedIn page.If you’d like to partner with me, give me any tips, or do any other communications with me, feel free to email me or DM me on either of those platforms.
I look forward to being a part of this community and contributing in whatever ways I can.
