Has anyone upgraded from 24.04 LTS to 26.04.1?

26.04.1 isn’t scheduled to be released until August 27th.

The upgrade isn’t open, the file that is checked by Ubuntu release upgrader tools tools is this one

with most important being the “Supported: 0” meaning it’s not yet a supported upgrade.

What you no doubt saw, is a false indication provided by lubuntu-update and is discussed on the following thread

Hi, everyone (I’m posting this in the “Lubuntu” category, but feel free to move this to “Support & Help” if you feel that is more adequate). I have a VM that is running “Lubuntu 24.04.4 LTS (Noble Numbat)”. Today (16th May 2026), I ran the “Lubuntu Update” (as I usually do) - available from “Start” → “Preferences” → “Lubuntu Update”. That showed me there were updates for some components and programs / applications (as usual). The unusual part is that, at the end of that update…

It was hoped to have that fixed awhile back, but resources/time by our volunteer developers has been lacking sorry.

As a moderator though; I’ll close this thread, as we have a known-issue-thread already, and currently there is no support available given the upgrade doesn’t yet exist.

People have release-upgraded, but asking if they have is hardly a ‘Support and Help’ question; that to me is more a Lounge topic.

FYI: The date on the schedule (27 August) is the ISO release date, the date the aforementioned meta file is altered (allowing upgrades) is AFTER that date, at earliest the following week, but more regularly a few weeks post-ISO release. For best results, you should be patient.
