Hi I’m receiving this new powerfull Lenovo chromebook based on Mediatek ARM

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 with the Kompanio Ultra 910 Chipset

I was wondering if anybody have experience with mediatek platform and what can we expect in term of support on Mainline kernel

I’m with you on this quest. I too have a Chromebook with the Kompanio 910.I was so impressed by its power. The reason I’ve bought and continued to buy Chromebooks is because I’ve been able to install mainline Linux. Granted they’ve made strieda to run Linux in chrome OS, but I like knowing that I could run Linux directly on the hardware and replace chrome.

My understanding is first we need u-boot and general support on this chipset.
