[GTK4] Intermittent printing failure from GTK4 apps (e.g. Papers, Gnome-text-editor), printing works fine in GTK3 (e.g. Evince)

Problem Description:

  1. Print from a GTK4 app, e.g. Papers
  2. No response from printer
  3. Print again
  4. Somehow it works

The problem is intermittent and exhibits no apparent pattern.

Relevant System Information:
Printer in question is connected via network.

Tested in different offices with different models (Fujifilm Apeos C5570 with IPP Everywhere; Konica Minolta bizhub 958 with vendor-provided PPD; Brother DCP1610W with vendor-provided PPD), all exhibiting the same behaviour.

CUPS itself should be working fine, since printing from GTK3 apps don’t trigger the same problem.

Problem became annoying in 25.10 since more and more applications are now in GTK4.

What I’ve Tried:
Using Evince for now as a workaround when dealing with PDFs.
