Grub problem after install

Last night Jan 10 2026 I installed the pending iso of Xubuntu 26.04 into kvm/qemu

The install appeared to go well but after in a reboot and terminal upgrade with sudo apt upgrade i was informed that grub-bin should be removed.
I did so and not surprisingly could no longer boot to that VM.
This was simply testing the iso from yesterday so not a major problem, i just deleted the VM and tried again with the same iso file but had the same problem.

I downloaded the iso using zsync which told me it was a good download.
Has anyone else seen this with yesterday’s iso archive?

This looks like an issue with the current daily / pending Xubuntu 26.04 ISO, not with your KVM setup.

Sorry, my mistake but it was grub-pc-bin that was removed by that autoremove command.
I shall try again as soon as possible with the next iso file but I’ve never had this happen before and I’ve installed many iso versions of Xubuntu-26.04.
