Greetings from Washington

Hi all – I’m Andrew Reid, I’ve been running HPC clusters, servers, and workstations in the Debian world for many years, and am now moving into Ubuntu. I’m in Washington DC, at a Federal lab. Hoping to get my head around the various major and minor differences, and do at least as well here!

Welcome to Ubuntu Discourse

@nuccitheboss may be able to give you some pointers regarding HPC.

Looking forward to your contributions!

Hi, @reidace

DMV local here!!! I’m excited for this summit. My first experience with Linux was with Ubuntu Feisty on my college laptop in '07. I fell in love. I worked as a designer for years, meaning I was situationally married to the MacOS ecosystem. Oct last year I built my first desktop from Bitsa this and bitsa that. When Ubuntu Noble booted for the first time on my screen, I felt like I was home.

What’s your favorite Ubuntu wallpaper? Mine is Ubuntu Gutsy Elephant.
