Morning all! My name is Arnold and I’m relatively new to the Ubuntu Community. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge and also provide whatever support I can to others.
About me: I’m “officially” retired from an IT career of over 45 years, including running my own IT consulting business for 10 of those years. But I currently do some side gigs in re: Tutoring young grade schoolers in Math and ELA. I’m also a Notary Public in Florida.
Relevant to Ubuntu, I decided 2 years ago to begin transitioning my home network to Linux/Ubuntu from WIndows (Historically, running a full “domain” with Windows Server 2003 as a primary domain controller and including DHCP, DNS an AD servers). My participation on this forum is, therefore, mostly concerning the trials I’m going through to get the Ubuntu equivalents of Windows Server to work properly for me. I’ll detail some of those trials in subsequent threads.
I look forward to learning a lot from the forum as well as contribute what I can (especially my findings as I complete this transition).
