Go to top arrow in threads

May I suggest a useful addition to the site may be a small arrow to the right at the bottom of the screen which when clicked takes you straight to the top of the thread page?

Many other sites and apps have this and it is very useful.

As far as I know you can just click the title of thread shown on top to jump to its first post.

There is no thread title at the top for me…

You can use the home button on the keyboard to jump to the top of a topic.

Alternatively, for long threads use Shift + 3 and select which post you want to go to.

Shift + ? opens the Discourse shortcuts menu, lots of useful tricks in there.

and I also like using END to jump back to the end of the thread (or just beyond it)…

A number of pages use the top as an Agenda/current.status, then posts subsequent to it record data/comments etc, thus hitting HOME lets you view current.status detail, and END lets you jump to the latest post on the thread, or where you’ll post a your own etc…

Looks like a bug/inconsistency between the light and dark themes.

Here’s a video where I visit the same thread in default (light) and dark mode. Note how in light mode the whole header bar just moves up, whereas in dark mode it’s pinned to the top of the page, and the title of the thread moves up there.

Here it is in screenshot form so you can see without watching the video.

It indeed was an incosistency in the theming CSS - should be fixed now
Thanks for pointing it out @vidtek99 and @popey!
