Gnome-Software not working

I have something on my machine called “Software” its an icon with red/black and blue icon. It has “editors choice” with a bunch of new software names. All the other places are empty. I am thinking of just deleting it. Its suppose, I think, to have all the available software. It always says its downloading but nothing ever downloads. Its kinda worthless.

Thoughts?

You didn’t provide any info about Ubuntu Version. So I searched the web and found Software only displays …

“Software” is gnome-software not snap-store/ubuntu-software

what does it mean “All the other places are empty”?
If you click on “Create” or “Work” you should have a list of applications.
If not you may have problems with your Network connection or with your sources.list.
what Ubuntu version do you have?
Your problem seems similar to this: Bug #2095068 “Gnome-software starts with an empty window” : Bugs : gnome-software package : Ubuntu

I mean that Create,Work,Play,Socialize,Learn,Develop and the big one at the top are all empty. It sometimes says its loading but has, so far, never updated a thing. I mentioned software because that’s what its supposed to be about…

Open ‘Setting’ > ‘Network’ or ‘Wifi’
Check if your network connection is ‘Metered’. click on ‘Metered’ apply, then again reset 'Metered. and apply.
As from message under ‘Metered connection…’ software updates may be stopped if connection is metered.

Starting gnome-software from terminal did you see a message ‘Refreshing data’?

Are you connected with ethernet cable or WiFi?

Thank you…

They are now updating. I assume that can run my Software Updater to update when I have to.
