G'day All

I’m based in Straya (Australia), typically in the South East.
I’ve been using computers since we had a NEC APC III at work, then we moved to 386 with a Maths Co-Pro to run AutoCAD. All on DOS 5. Then we got Windows 2 (runtime) for Word (I think).
So yes, thanks, I am quite old.

I am a former IT Exec, I now have other businesses, and playing with Tech is my hobby. I’m here to try and add value to this comminiuty and Ubuntu. Not sure how I’ll do that, but I’ll give it a shot.

I’ve fiddled with Ubuntu on and off for a few years, but I’ve now committed to using it for everything I can. Let’s see how I go.

Thanks for making we welcome, and I look forward to chatting with people in this community as I take this journey.

Always good to see another Aussie! I’m in Melbourne.

We’re in the process of rebooting our Australia LoCo (Local Community) at the moment. With the possibility of an in person event in the 2nd half of the year.

Keep an eye out for an announcement soon!

Also, will this event have beer?

I’m not sure this is an ideal family friendly question, but as an another fellow aussie, it does feel natural. LOL.

Always beer! And hopefully a Bunnings close by for a snag or two.

I think “old” is not the right term: shouldn’t it be “seasoned” or something like it? :innocent:

“Yes” is the answer! :clinking_beer_mugs:

Seasoned works, Pickled may well be a better term.
