  • Continued investigating .NET 11 preview 5 failing to build on ppc64el.

Misc

  • Preparing for dotnet upload rights DMB meeting.

LXD

  • LXD contains a documentation copy for the LXD-UI. Build it on riscv64 too.

Just

  • Provide the Just snap on riscv64. The snap is not in the edge channel.

Opentelemetry-collector snap

  • Test build of the snap for riscv64. PR created to add the architecture to the snap.

Miscellaneous

  • +1 Maintenance
  • Update Rust toolchain documentation

Java

Zig

  • Tried and confirmed that the ziglang/zig master branch now builds natively on ppc64el. So we should be able to add the arch for the zig0.17 update.

Misc

  • Adoptium WG meeting

Rust

  • Finish rustc-1.94 port to Stonking :tada:
  • Enable cargo-auditable for rust-coreutils
  • Enable cargo-auditable for fish (requires a hack at the moment, fix involves making a PR to dh-strip)

Rust / LLVM Toolchains

Hello!

Rust

Writing Chisel slice definitions for the Rust 1.93 toolchain:

Documentation

Adding instructions for setting up sbuild with the unshare backend on Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble).

What have I been doing lately? A bunch of different things, as usual, including:

  • Proposed an implementation of “partial variants” in Launchpad
  • A good discussion on the ultimate design of imagecraft
  • Working on verification of the sbuild fix that means that amd64v3 builds do not show the package contents in the build log (and a launchpad-buildd change to match)

distro:

  • sponsored zig0.16 upload
  • sponsored tomcat sru (tomcat-native, tomcat9-11) uploads.

Apache Tomcat

Java

  • Working on prototype Java Workshop SDK

Stonking

  • Worked on rust-sequoia-sq{v} merges for MIR (Merge: #502068)/(Merge: #502743)
  • Refined and created demo for extended APT repo signature support
  • Backported cp fix to rust-coreutils 0.8

Launchpad

  • QA tested this change on qastaging.
  • I rebased util-linux again while doing this, since it’s hitting another FTBFS…

cdimage

  • Preparation, review, and roll-out of some changes with Utkarsh.

Ubuntu infra

Stonking

Resolute

  • Worked on LP: #2155094
    • Split into LP: #2157789 against kernel
    • But this changed into a bug against dracut when we figured out this was a repeat of the issues with initramfs-tools with zstd being invoked with maximum settings (level 15 compression with multi-threading)
    • Added task for ubuntu-raspi-settings to implement a workaround
  • Filed bug with ubuntu-raspi-settings to disable tmp.mount on small-mem machines, LP: #2157975
