LXD

  • Experimental support for launching VMs on RISC-V has been added to the riscv64 LXD snap in the latest/edge channel.

Toolchains

  • Working on Resolute SRU to fix LP: #2152839 for llvm-toolchain-22
  • Working on LP: #2152147 for llvm-toolchain-22–I was able to replicate the bug upstream so I shall be fixing it for Resolute and Stonking, while also forwarding the fix upstream

Java

  1. Testing openssl FIPS packages on Ubuntu Pro with fips-updates enabled.
  2. Prepared GraalVM snap updates for the April 2026 security updates.

.NET

  • Built .NET May updates for 8, 9, and 10, which have already been released to the Ubuntu archive and the Backports PPA.
  • Built .NET 11 Preview 4. This package is now available for wider usage from the Previews PPA for stonking, resolute, noble, and jammy.
    • Run sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dotnet/previews, then sudo apt install dotnet11.
    • As the name suggests, these are preview builds. So, until we reach RC status on the .NET side, things may break.
  • Created .NET 11 content snaps for the runtimes and SDK: dotnet-runtime-110, aspnetcore-runtime-110, and dotnet-sdk-110.
  • Also updated the .NET snap in the latest/edge channel to support the preview .NET host, along with installer support for .NET 11 previews.

PowerShell

  • With the availability of .NET 11, the PowerShell Preview snap build is now on 7.7.

RISC-V

  • Updated desktop installer Flutter to 3.44.0 (PR)
  • Working on fixing installer bug that prevents startup
  • Investigating vector (VLEN) bug on gpg (LP: #2154120)

Small updates to last week MPs, applying reviews.

In no particular order:

  • Finished handling that Error Tracker GDPR request I received.
  • Rolled out the final bits of deployment for the new release KPI environment.
  • Took some time to endorse a couple of DMB applications.
  • Moved forward with the Archive Opening check-list. This is now mostly figuring out some remaining bits of CI.
