LLVM

  • Drafted a blog post for clang profiles
  • Deep dive into reverse dependencies of LLVM 14, 17, and 18. It’s likely that 14 will be dropped for Resolute but not anything else.
  • Exploring two paths forward for backports of LLVM on Noble: 1) reverting an upstream Debian package change, or 2) modifying how some un-versioned LLVM libraries are packaged on Noble. Leaning towards option 2.

  • Upstream patches for Linux kernel, U-Boot to silicon partner
  • Build and test images

  • Kicked the retracers after some outage broke them.

Resolute

  • Uploaded rpi-eeprom bump to fix VC4 issues on CM5 (LP: #2128161)
  • Sponsored libcamera changes with rebase for @r41k0u (LP: #2141307)
  • Sponsored rpicam-apps changes (with some minor tweaks) for @r41k0u (LP: #2141307)
  • Fixed FTBFS for rtimulib (dependency of Sense HAT) (LP: #2139438) and upstreamed patches
  • FTBFS in ubiquity:
    • queried flavours on continued use of oem-config
    • appears it’s still used in one pre-installed desktop, so will work on FTBFS next week
  • MIR passed for piboot-try (many thanks to @mylesjp for a swift review) (LP: #2142151)
    • now pending security review (as expected, given age of flash-kernel’s MIR)

Questing / Noble

  • Prepping rpi-eeprom SRU to bump both of these (LP: #2128161)
    • The VC4 issue on CM5 ultimately targets Ubuntu Core 24, hence SRU required

General

  • Reviewed requested changes on docs PR
  • Answered some queries on locale handling in pre-installed desktop configuration
