For everyone using the snap package of steam Guide

Finding your microphone on snap steam.

Terminal fix
When you download the snap version of steam it wont automatically pickup your microphone because of its sandboxed nature. You can copy this into the terminal and restart steam in order to find your microphone/microphones “snap connect steam:audio-record”.

Gui fix
On both kde plasma and gnome you can go into settings , applications and search for steam and enable the record audio permission.

Issues with Cs2 & fixes

Issue 1: Invisible player models
Open the terminal and enter: “sudo snap refresh gaming-graphics-core22 --channel=kisak-turtle/candidate”. That should resolve this issue. I found the solution here https://github.com/canonical/steam-snap/issues/439#issuecomment-3112947003

Issue 2: Black/Missing arm textures
You can resolve this issue by going into the settings on Cs2 and setting the graphics preset to low. This issue is being tracked here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/csgo-osx-linux/issues/4177 and for some reason is looks like this issue only happens to people on gnome. (This issue isn’t snap related)

I hope this guide can help anyone with the same problems I faced with the snap package of steam. This post is not in anyway trying to slander snap packages I myself use them and like them.

Some of the images isn’t mine but you can find the originals at the github links I mentioned in the post

Hey thank you! You are absolutely right, my apologies for posting in the wrong category.

Apology not required.
The fact that you have taken the time to offer a tip & trick shows, in itself, genuine interest in discourse.ubuntu.com
