I’m "surprised” that part was overlooked, as I was “locked out” for the very same exact reason (see below) or was it extended on gnome as opposed to qt?
Isn’t “Jan 12 2026”, the day of the original post here, well-past it’s “End-Of-Life”?

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Desktop and Server are still on-topic and specifically listed at Welcome To Support And Help as they come with 5 years of standard support.
The Ubuntu community flavors (like Lubuntu) only have 3 years of support, which is why they’re not in that list. The community flavors such as Lubuntu 24.04 LTS & Lubuntu 25.10 and other flavors are still supported and thus listed.
You’ll see that listed in all announcements, eg. selecting one for Ubuntu 22.04.5 it says
Maintenance updates will be provided for 5 years from the initial 22.04 LTS release for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Core. All the remaining flavours will be supported for 3 years.
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Desktop/Server is on-topic for support here, the community flavor support ended as per the release announcements.
I guess it’s still within it’s support term (or in a “extended maintenance” term)
Thanks for pointing out that we needed to update that community-maintained page.
standard support is 5 years for “Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Core” as per my quote from a release announcement. The extended support starts at the five year mark, and hasn’t been reached yet for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
This site does NOT provide extended support; being a Ubuntu community site in regards support. There are sections that are managed by Canonical teams, but the Support and Help section is a community area & thus standard support only applies.
Canonical also use expanded as a term too you may or may not have noticed. Ubuntu Pro offers some security benefits (for packages in universe for example) during the standard support years, as well as the [traditional] extended support that starts after the standard support years end.
FYI: I’m using the announcement I used, only as it was easy for me to find, as you’ll note it was me that pasted that one… But even if you check other announcements the text is identical as the only change(s) I made relate to formatting, with it’s source at the bottom of page anyway.
