Hi everyone,
I’ve just performed a fresh install of Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon) on my Huawei Matebook D14. I was hoping that fingerprint support for this model would be working out-of-the-box in this release, but unfortunately, the option does not appear in the Users settings.
Here are the technical details of my hardware:
-
Device: Huawei Matebook D14
-
Fingerprint Sensor (lsusb):
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 27c6:5110 Shenzhen Goodix Technology Co.,Ltd. Goodix Fingerprint Device -
OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS
What I’ve tried so far:
-
Checked
fprintdstatus: It is installed and running, but “inactive (dead)” as it finds no device. -
Ran
fprintd-enroll: Received the errorImpossible to enroll: GDBus.Error:net.reactivated.Fprint.Error.NoSuchDevice: No devices available. -
Verified that the device is physically recognized via
lsusb.
It seems like the Goodix 5110 is still not supported by the default libfprint library in 26.04. Is there an official or stable way to get this working without potentially breaking the new system? Or is there a plan to include the TOD (Touch OEM Driver) for this specific sensor in the official repositories soon?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
