Feedback on the new web portal

Has anyone attempted running Security profiles, i am only attempting CIS server level 1 in audit, it retirns the following error -

Landscape client failed to handle this request (usg) because the
plugin which should handle it isn't available. This could mean that the
plugin has been intentionally disabled, or that the client isn't running
properly, or you may be running an older version of the client that doesn't
support this feature.

Landscape is the latest version and the Client is latest stable Pro is enabled and usg has been activated.

Any thoughts ?

Hi. The Upgrades column on the Instances page no longer shows quantities.

Please get rid of the new confirmation “Remove instance from Landscape”. I don’t want to type an essay to remove a client.

You have to make sure that the client is running version 25.04 of landscape. You also need to enable the module as per the docs:

On each instance you want to manage, follow the steps in [Ubuntu Security’s installation guide](https://documentation.ubuntu.com/security/docs/compliance/usg/install-usg/), then:

1. Edit the client configuration file `/etc/landscape/client.conf`, add this line:

include_manager_plugins = UsgManager

If your `client.conf` already includes an `include_manager_plugins` line, then add `UsgManager` to it. For example:

include_manager_plugins = ScriptExecution,UsgManager

2. Restart Landscape Client:

sudo systemctl restart landscape-client

If your client doesnt have the ppa:landscape/latest-stable enabled then it wont get the 25.04 version…

The new one is more useful and usable than the old one, and visually better organized.
A “dark-mode” setting would be really nice to have!

How are you supposed to save searches in the new web portal?

Can’t set the restart time in firefox on a delayed restart. I can’t click into the box to type it, and the calendar select only lets me pick a day, but not the time.

I haven’t read all the following responses, so it’s possible someone else answered this already… (there’s no threading here) I ran into this too. The legacy interface runs “v1” scripts that are not visible in the new (“v2”) interface. You seem to have to re-create the scripts you want to use in the new interface.

tags
In dark mode the text for the add tags is white on white making it difficult to see the tags that are available.
Also it’s not possible to add new tags using the add tag text link in the text input field

Scripts
the Redo button doesn’t run the script with attachments when redoing a failed script run. You have to go back to the instance and run the full script again from the Info tab.

I’m having an issue where when I’m trying to import a GPG key, I fill in the name & material, however it won’t let me continue. I click the button and nothing loads. I’ve tried with several web browsers yet it’s still giving me the same issue. It doesn’t show any error codes or any indication of whats wrong, even though it is formatted correctly. I believe it has to be a UI issue.

I ran across this one immediately too -

It would be nice when you click the Restart button that the scheduler dialog then comes up like the old interface

Overall this is a good GUI and im happy there will be more added. Now for my notes as I work more with it to do real world activities.

Landscape Status sometimes doesnt line up with the instance details status where it may show online.

Thats it for now, thanks!

I don’t quite understand the message: “ESM updates are disabled.” It appears even though ESM updates are enabled, and that’s what it says in the Ubuntu Pro tab as well.

Apart from that issue, the new portal feels much better and more useful.

there is a bug where my host has “offline” mark but a green dot and ping is working for the past hours without issue, last ping timestamp is just a minute away from the page refresh timestamp.
It’s been like this for hours

working with the dashboard has been fun, operationally easy.

I would love to see a “AV status / + def date” part on the main screen. Let me know what machines have AV and if checked I could see the last def date.

Hi,

Loving the new portal, I prefer it’s GUI to the old one. I just thought that I would chime in with a short observation.

If I click on an instances, then select and instance, then click on packages, It never seems to load in the packages (perhaps its just so slow that I loose patience). If I go back to the old portal, they all load in fine and can be updated from there. At present, seeing packages with updates available and updating them using the new portal is not really fuctioning for me.

I really like where you are going with the new portal, thank for all of your hard work.

All the best.
