On August 23, 2026, the Python Angola Community, in partnership with ASM TOUR and Okukulisa, held the first-ever PyDay Namibe, an event dedicated to promoting Python, programming, and knowledge sharing.
An initiative led by Filipe Malaquias, with the goal of taking the first step toward building a more active and engaged Python community in Angola.
PyDay Namibe also served as an opportunity for the organizing team to gain experience in hosting community events and to assess the level of interest in Python across the country.

During the event, we had several sessions covering different areas where Python can be applied in practice.

The presentations helped demonstrate that Python goes far beyond traditional programming. It can be applied to areas such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), automation, software development, and cybersecurity.
A Community-Built Initiative
The PyDay Namibe was made possible through the collective efforts of the organizing team, speakers, volunteers, supporters, and participants.
From the planning stages to the event itself, many individuals contributed their time, knowledge, resources, and dedication to making this first edition possible.
For a community that is still taking its first steps, successfully organizing an event of this scale represents an important achievement.

With the first PyDay Namibe successfully concluded, we are now looking ahead to the community’s next major goal: PyCon Angola 2027.
PyDay Namibe 2026 was only the first step. Now, a new chapter begins for the Python Angola Community.
