New to this forum and to Discourse in general. I’m a noob when it comes to Ubuntu and Linux, although I’ve been lightly using Linux for years.
I just loaded Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS onto an old laptop to use with my new 3d printer on an isolated vlan. While trying to use the printer’s app (Bambu Studio), my laptop rebooted and I don’t know why.
I’m looking at the logs and I see “Error: Not precalculated Placeable areas requested” happening ~1400 times just before the reboot happened. I’ve tried googling this message and get zero hits. I tried searching this forum for that also, and again zero hits.
Thank you for your reply. I found this in the Application and System logs, but it didn’t indicate --that I could find-- that it was specific to, or an error from Bambu Studio. Other than the timing, how would I know this is from that program vs a system/os error?
The term “placeable area” is term used by the application. It certainly could be an issue with the OS, but it does seem somewhat specific to the 3d printer application. Indeed, there are references to it in the source code for the application.
