What I’m saying is that if you replace “auto” in your script with “preferred,” you may get the end result you want. The issue you describe occurs when you turn on the VGA from what you say. That’s also where “auto” is being used. So make the switch, problem solved. Most likely. I don’t have an external to test.

Well, I 'm kinda interested in enabling the output.
Maybe, maybe not. I think selecting the mode (what it definitely does do) may actually produce the end result you want. Interesting, if you search the man page, there is nothing except auto that explicitly enables. But you would think you would want an option that isn’t so automatic. I think that’s what preferred is. It’s worth a try.
