Drop down menu misplaced?

Greetings,

I very recently upgraded to Ubuntu 25.10 and am confident all software is up to date.

For a while I thought there was a flaw in the system with drop down menus, as I would click on them and nothing would happen. Then I noticed that they were dropping at the upper left corner of my laptop’s screen.

This might make sense on a hand held device, but, to me at least, not on a larger screen.

At first I wondered if this might be by design, but now I see that some drop downs function as I would expect.

So, is this a flaw or a feature?

Could you send a screenshot?

I was kind of afraid you would ask. :flushed:

Give me a minute or a few thousand to backtrack my browsing history and find the culptrit/s.

You should have done that in the first post so we instantly knew what you were talking about.

Except that my machine has no print screen, and as soon as I press any key to try to use a short cut the drop down is gone.

Take a photo and upload that? Or adjust the time in the screenshot app.

I was just thinking of that!

Yep, that’s definitely not normal

I see you are using Chrome from the image.

Is the same behaviour reproducible if you use Firefox (or other browsers)?

Is this only happening with web browsers or also other applications?

If yes, which ones?

Yep, seems like a Chrome thing. Firefox drops like a drop down menu.
