DisplayPort to Dual DisplayPort Splitter that support Ubuntu

Hi,

We have ASUS AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Video Card 16GB GDDR6 OC Edition PRIME-RX9060XT-O16G. It only have one HDMI and 2 DP ports available. We now have need for 4 monitors, so I though that we could try to split one DP port to two monitors.

I purchased one generic splitter that only mentioned Win and Mac. Seems that it does not do the job in Linux. So, do you have any suggestions for Display Port splitter that works in Ubuntu?

Thank you!

We bought this from Amazon

A splitter is an external device, OS agnostic.

What you should keep in mind is the monitors won’t be independent. If you’re expecting to manage those from the screen settings this device can’t do that. From the OS (any OS) standpoint there will be only one monitor connected.

Thanks!

Is it better to daisy chain two monitors then to try to use splitters? Can daisy chained monitors show different content? Or only the same as a clone?

With DisplayPort you can do that.

OK, I try daisy chain first. Monitors do have two DP ports, so if lucky they have in and out.
