Disapearing web pages: Continuing

I get frequent errors when uploading pictures

Ah, now I get it; you mean when trying to upload the photos here. That might be some Discourse issue, which is probably related to the recent DDoS attacks.

By the way, you deserve a medal for bravely suffering the slings and arrows of “Recovery Mode”! :trumpet: :confetti_ball: :tada:

If I do then you deserve 2!

However it’s not over yet. I have needed to start a new thread because of remaining problems.

You have served your time though.

Please take back my medal :frowning:

I installed the latest driver 595 after a long sleep (I have terminal cancer). I have a desktop but I cannot move the windows of pages I open. I could before.

Nope, that one is well-deserved for powering through in Recovery Mode.

I am so sorry to hear that.

I think we should stick to the other thread.

The new user account is working

The old account has many problems. I think I am using the 95 driver and can check. I appreciate your not forgetting me.

The post above is now incorrect as I only user the new account. However I have many appointments so can only do things now and again l suggest if you are helping that I find all current setting and things that need fixing if any. Then you sart from there. Please give me time.

So the old account is the problem. You should consider sticking to the new account and migrating files from the old user’s home directory.

I wouldn’t, but I was unable to post on Discourse due to an issue which has since been resolved.

I think, you may have inadvertently deleted or altered some files in your old user account, while trying things to fix your issue. We’d need to retrace your steps and undo them. That can be rather tedious. I think it best to just use the new account and move needed files from the old to the new home folder.

But first and foremost, you do need to make the new user a member of the sudo group, if you haven’t done so already, otherwise you won’t be able to install or update software and whatever else requires superuser privileges; I know I told you not to, but only to prevent you from breaking stuff while taking stabs in the dark.
If push comes to shove, we can always use Recovery Mode to fix your new user.

But one thing just came to me: you may be in the wrong Desktop session, which you can change with that “cogwheel” icon on the login screen, after selecting the old user.

New user is sudoer.

I can’t find which ‘other thread’. Just got back from 2 appointment for me and wife so need time before I can do as I suggested
