Difference between Redhat and Fedora

I asked Ai, “What is the difference between Radhat and Fedora?”

The main difference is that Fedora is a community Linux distribution sponsored by Red Hat, and acts as a “incubator” for technology, where the latest packages and innovations are tested before being integrated into the commercial operating system Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). RHEL is the stable, long-term supported commercial product, while Fedora is a platform for new and future technologies, with new releases approximately every 6 months.
Fedora:
Purpose: A platform for innovation and experimentation with new technologies, attracting developers and users who want the latest software.
Releases: Rapid release, approximately every six months, considered a precursor to RHEL.
Sponsorship: Sponsored by Red Hat, relies on the community for reports and contributions.
Use: Ideal for home users and developers who want the latest features and to experiment with new technologies.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL):
Purpose: A reliable and stable commercial operating system for servers and production environments, providing long-term commercial support.

Releases: Stable and tested releases, including software that has been tested in Fedora, with long-term security updates.
Maintenance: Commercially supported by Red Hat.
Usage: Servers, data centers, and production environments that require stability and reliable support.

In short: Learning Fedora gives you experience with technologies that will later appear in RHEL, making the transition between them easier, especially for those working in RHEL-dependent environments at work.

For that i don’t need AI, I have 18 almost 19 years of basic to average linux experience and knowledge built up by reading articles, reviews, trying many distro’s, reading documents and being involved in many projects and forums throughout those years. I’m still learning every single day.

I know this is offtopic and might sound blunt but I in general dislike it when people start to ask the overhyped AI for answers and post the outcome of it. Do it the oldfashion way and research on your own and base your answer on that. This has way more value than getting a copy/paste answer from a machine/AI. I rely on facts and answers from real people… Just my 2 cents.

I completely agree. If I want the AI answer, I’m going to ask AI myself. I don’t need a forum cluttered with unasked-for AI answers, especially as we all know that AI isn’t exactly known for reliable accuracy.

What is the meaning of this ? Both have their use cases and chatting with AI is fine but no thoughts other than AI answer. Please don’t become boot loader for AI

 AI’s answer became the first in the search engine.

We’re perfectly capable of running our own search queries, thank you. Please don’t clutter the forums with nonsense like this.

I would like to clarify something here for all users of our Discourse; namely, that while we would prefer users to post their own content, the usage of AI-generated answers is acceptable if acknowledged.

My emphasis added.

However, this seems to be a slightly different case.

Firstly, @albari54 clarified that a question was asked in Google search and the resulting answer shown in the screenshot is, indeed, from an AI engine.

We do not control search engine results.

Secondly, we need to keep these discussions polite and respectful even if we disagree with the conclusions or assumptions.

You are all valued and respected members of this community, so let’s please keep it that way.

Therefore, since this topic appears to have run its course I am closing it.

Thanks to all those who participated.
