- Lots of bug triage and user support in Launchpad and upstreams. Backlog stats are here.
- The lost KMS properties fix landed upstream in 46.5.
- Finished verifying the gnome-shell lock screen crash fix. Although it has become very difficult to reproduce lately. Now released to Noble updates.
- Retargeted triple buffering to GNOME 48 instead of trying to upstream it in 47 at the last minute. Actually upstream wants it in 47 more than we do. But recent code reviews are both too numerous to resolve quickly and too destabilizing if implemented fully. So I’m not going to do that so close to release. There are still no known bugs to worry about and the distro patch for 24.10 only needs to be supported until EOL in July 2025.
- Uploaded a Mutter SRU for Noble (which then got merged into this one) to address unreliable colour profiles (including night light?) and laptop cursor stutter.
- Tweaked DisplayLink zero-copy import error handling.
- Dropped my attempt to upstream the Raspberry Pi X11 corruption fix that was needed to get 24.04 out the door. For 25.04 it’s maybe not needed, or easier to patch Mesa if still needed.
- Relaxed the gnome-shell-common dependencies for the 47.0 release. Also spent a while assessing options for automating it, without success.
- Proposed a fix for the current top gnome-shell crasher in Noble.
- Fixed more bugs in the draft frame clock refactor for GNOME 48.
- It’s a short week and a long weekend for me so I’m posting this early.
