Ubuntu-mate folks, after helping another user with some problems with his ubuntu-mate-screenshot app I thought I would download the latest daily and test it out. While doing that I found that the live session did not provide an internet connection via the hardwired ethernet connection that this machine is using.
I posted a thread on the pre-release discussion group as well as on the Stonking 26.10 thread, and essentially the advice provided was to “file a bug report,” which I did. Yesterday I tried to check the dailies to see if there would be any updates and the last date for current daily still shows as 8/24. I posted about that situation on my thread and was informed that “dailies doesn’t actually mean daily” and the thread was abruptly closed–essentially no significant help on the internet connection problem provided there–other than links to file a bug report.
So, reporting this as a potential issue on the Ubuntu-mate sub-forum . . . perhaps there needs to be some adjustment made to the live .iso . . . i.e., not providing an internet connection in today’s user environment seems relatively important???
