Constant brief freezing on multimonitor on 26.04

Problem Description:
When using multiple monitor, system experiences brief ~1s freezes constantly, disconnecting the 2nd monitor solves the issue, this happened before and it got fixed with one of the previous kernels(but i can’t remember which one, released in june)

Reproducing it is as simple as connecting 2nd monitor

What I’ve Tried:

I haven’t found any solution to this, this thread talks about installing -26 but i already have -27, i’ve tried it anyway and the freezes continue.

On windows 10 system works perfectly, even with 3 monitors connected of different resolution

Also tried different 2nd monitor, no change

UPDATE: Solved! Thanks a lot for the quick help, especially @yasirel for linking the launchpad! What fixed it for me was installing the kernel from proposed 7.0.0-26. I would first separate the two variables: try the same two-monitor setup once in an Xorg session, and once with the 570/server driver instead of 580. Nvidia + Wayland + multi-monitor is still where these 1 second stalls often show up, especially after kernel/driver changes. The AppArmor lines from Firefox/Chromium are probably noise here. More useful would be `journalctl -b --user -u org.gnome.Shell@wayland.service` around the freeze, plus `journalctl -b -k | grep -i nvidia` after it happens. If Xorg is smooth, I would keep using that as a workaround and file it as a Mutter/Nvidia/Wayland regression with those logs.

I agree with this approach. Testing Xorg and different Nvidia driver versions is a good way to isolate the cause. The AppArmor messages are likely unrelated, while Mutter/Nvidia/Wayland logs around the freeze should reveal if it’s a compositor or driver issue.

The 2nd journalctl also logs nothing, not even when plugging the 2nd monitor(booted with only one monitor connected), 8:09 is the boot time now it’s 8:43:

¿how do i change to xorg and previous nvidia drivers?, i’m not that well versed in linux.

For the drivers i’ve tried:

No drivers found for installation.

Same with :570 , from my 1st post there’s only 580 available

how do i test with xorg?

And AFAIK i can’t go back to another driver as it’s not even listed in ubuntu-drivers

and where do i even file the bug and how long i’d have to wait for it to be fixed?, i need multimonitor to work and so far it’s unusable it’s really costing me work efficiency to use ubuntu with single monitor

update, reading some guides i’ve managed to install X11 and plasma -i think- and it fails even worse:

sudo apt install xorg x11-apps x11-utils plasma-session-x11

rebooted, and selected “x11 on plasma” on login, black screen and monitor goes into power saving, switching consoles with alt+fx i could reboot but x11 on plasma is no-go

So i selected “ubuntu” again, and it broke the ubuntu theme completely, in fact it give a popup asking if i wanted to install missing themes?

now i’m sitting on a very different theme in gnome, plasma-like and i have no idea how to fix it/change it

EDIT2:

Well after a reboot i selected plasma again and now it worked and i have no stutter, even the super key does nothing and shortcut setting gives “Failed to communicate with global shortcuts daemon”.

so what do i do next?
