Problem Description:
When I click or double click on a quicklauch icon like Brave or calibre nothing happens.
I click. Then I double click. nothing happens.
Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Any suggestions?

Could you please clarify the following:
brave or calibre)?.desktop files, or did you create them manually?This will help narrow down whether the issue is with the desktop environment, the launchers, or the applications themselves.

Lubuntu uses the LXQt desktop; but you state you’re using the Xfce desktop from the Xubuntu flavor ??
What is correct? is it Xubuntu with Xfce or Lubuntu with LXQt?
If it was me and on my system (were I using Xubuntu and Xfce, or Lubuntu and LXQt as I am using now), I’d look for clues by running the app from command line. I do it this way, as I’m lazy, and don’t have to explore system logs looking for clues; by running it at terminal I get to have those logs spew out on my terminal which is easier than me searching for them… eg.

That’s what I see here on my qterminal (ie. LXQt terminal) before the brave window opens on another window/monitor… ie. lots of warnings and errors are actually not a problem; as brave opens and works here. However I’d expect if the app wasn’t starting I’d easily spot which message was abnormal & a problem (not just the app logging something about my environment that differs to its programmers expectations).

So to run Brave on the terminal i simply brave and then it’ll give me the output?
I don’t have the computer with me but i’ll do this later. Then i’ll paste the output as i don’t know yet how to distinguish the errors from the correct processes.
