Ubuntu Version:
Example: 25.10
Desktop Environment (if applicable):
Example: KDE Plasma
Problem Description:
First boot SDDM sets monitor refresh to only 60hz.
Also, secondary monitor (Samsung 77inch S90D) is disabled in all user accounts, but is running in SDDM and mouse cursor starts on second monitor, even when my TV is off.
Example:
Turn on computer from cold boot or restart.
Monitor and TV start on. Mouse cursor on TV instead of primary monitor.
Log into my user account, screen changes to 240hz, second monitor is disabled as per my account settings.
Log out, and account settings are carried over as expected.
Relevant System Information:
GPU: Radeon 7900XTX
CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D
Motherboard: X470 Taichi
Wifi: Netgear A9000, Intel AX210
What I’ve Tried:
I’ve scoured google including this forum, the trick to go to SDDM in settings and click “Apply Plasma Settings…” does not work.
I can’t find a config file to edit where these settings are located. How does it know to use 1080p and 60hz? Are these just safe settings the os
assumes will work?
Before Posting:
I’ve checked here and other Linux forums and help pages, but I can’t find the answer to this.
