I am running with ubuntu 22.04.5 X11
I want to change my 1024x768 (4:3) display to 1920x1080 (16:9)
I have tried several suggestions on the internet but nothing worked.
Thoughts?

Hi,
I have a similar problem with ubuntu 24.04.2 X11. Still unsolved.
Having the same problem in Wayland? Why do you use X11? Does your monitor run in 1920x1080 with Windows? Has it ever worked with older version Ubuntu? What does xrandr say?
this is the third time I have tried to write this reply. The reason is that every time I finish there is nothing to press to save it. I can remove it, I can keep on editing it, etc but I can’t save it. I have no idea where to go next but I will try.
Anyway, I fixed this problem. Got rid of wayland and moved to X11. When I went back to setting the resolution I wanted was now there and all I had to do is click on it.
Thank you for the replies.
Now I am going to try and close this without deleting it but I seriously wonder why there is simply not something that says, “Save”, “Solved”, etc. Too hard I guess. Pain in the B??? This time I will imply “Close” it and see what happens. Nope, close doesn’t just close it. I just closed it but am not sure how. I think I saved the edit
