Understood and noted. The only point that is being made is that Ubuntu is a powerful and free platform for elderly to conduct practical research on matters relating to their lives. There are many factors beyond technical issues. How can I use Ubuntu to desktop research from home and compose a letter to my M.P. or doctor? Use Ubuntu to write old style letters in post (pony express) to avoid the dragons at the gate. That’s what I can do from my desktop.

Edit: Found the link to the ā€œpony expressā€ route to those in ā€œhigh placesā€.

Added to Ubuntu launchpad. Scripted to fire off documents to whichever community. Use editor such as quarto, Scribus et al.

A bit like ā€œBack to the Futureā€.

But I do steer away from politics and religion to name two vectors.

By sheer chance this old link popped up in my Chrome browser. Google lurking?

Relevance/context not yet seeping in to this octogenarian grey matter. Meanwhile I am busy using Ubuntu to challenge ā€œologiesā€ (medical vectors) before talking today with a medical specialist. That is more what I have in mind. An elder’s and/or carer’s telescope into chaos (avoiding politics and religion of course). More practical day to day problems like health safety. Bridging the gap between home and those in high places. Tools for carers. Education tools for grandchildren (Edubuntu). Social media security. Not idle banter. I’m thinking that this requires a dedicated domain which I’ve registered to fire away when I surface (Hunt for Red October comes to mind). Meanwhile I have two hours to prepare a challenge paper to a top gun. Chinese AI Agent (fully recognising security risks - but I call it ā€œriding the dragonā€) from Ubuntu desktop assisting to do the leg work.

Rider: Hopefully partly answering Q. in post 3. ā€œian-wiesserā€
ā€œI do not understand what you are attempting to communicate. Sorry.ā€

As the old Morecambe and Wise (U.K.) clip goes.
ā€œI’m playing the right notes they are just in the wrong orderā€.

@dragonfly41 I sort of get what you are trying to say, but I’m having difficulty in really understanding your posts. They meander all over the place in a chaotic manner. Perhaps try using bullet points to better organise your thoughts.

The language issue might be at least reduced with help of Local Communities… Maybe the @comms-council could have a chat with the @loco-council, to find a way to move that forward on that.
