Cassinux 26 Alpha — Ubuntu-based Linux distribution looking for contributors

Hi everyone!

I’m developing Cassinux, an experimental Ubuntu-based Linux distribution with a customized KDE Plasma desktop. Cassinux is currently in alpha development, so there is still a lot to improve.

I’m looking for contributors interested in helping with:

  • :penguin: KDE Plasma configuration and customization

  • :artist_palette: Branding, artwork, wallpapers, and theming

  • :package: Package selection and system configuration

  • :test_tube: Hardware testing and bug reports

  • :hammer_and_wrench: Build scripts and reproducible builds

  • :memo: Documentation

  • :light_bulb: Improvements and ideas

Cassinux still has some remaining Kubuntu branding and other areas that need work, so contributions and testing would be greatly appreciated.

You don’t need to be an expert Linux developer. If you’re interested in open-source Linux projects and have something useful to contribute, you’re welcome to help.

What is the purpose of this distribution? What does it do that none of the others does?

Cassinux is an experimental Ubuntu-based Linux distribution designed to be a customizable, community-driven desktop that anyone can use. It aims to provide a familiar KDE Plasma experience with its own branding, artwork, and configuration while remaining accessible to both new and experienced Linux users.

Cassinux doesn’t currently claim to have a feature that no other Linux distribution has. Its purpose is to build a unique desktop experience and give the community an opportunity to contribute to its development.
