Bug in fresh installed system and some thoughts about Ubuntu

Hello.
I don’t know where Ubuntu is going.
I’ve been following this distribution for about 16 years.
We used servers running it in production. But I don’t like the changes in Ubuntu.
Today the system is too heavy. You removed X11 support.
There are a lot of issues with the system. The last thing I saw after installing Ubuntu was this.
It’s a freshly installed system. The system just freezes completely.

Do you think this is normal in Long Term Release?
Technical details: AMD Ryzen 1600x, 16 GB DDR4 Ram, Nvidia GTX 1080, HDD 3TB+SSD 4tb, 4k Monitor.

Do you think shipping a second display system along with the only one supported by GNOME would have made the install lighter???

This was not a decision made by Ubuntu or Canonical, GNOME/RedHat decided to remove all X11 related code so even if we shipped Xorg you would not be able to make any use of it…

Your log except points to an issue with the nouveau driver, try installing either the open or the proprietary Nvidia drivers instead…

Look, with the nouveau driver perfect works on other ubuntu based systems.
That’s for example mint. Works? Works. Same I can say about Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu.
I’m not talking about performance, of course proprietary drivers works better. But why system freezed? I pressed reset button after. It’s not normal.

Moved to Support and Help.

The bug report linked to by @aleasto seems to offer some workarounds.

If you add yourself to the report it will have more weight and likely get fixed quicker.

Thanks

Nouveau. Perfect. Works. 3 words I’d thought I’d never see in the same sentence.
