Breezy Badger wiki page has dead link to Edubuntu release

I visited the Breezy Badger wiki to refresh my memory of my first Ubuntu experience and found the Edubuntu announcement link lands at a page with “page does not exist” message.

I registered on Launchpad and requested to join the wiki editors team in order to message someone, but this may be moot in light of the latest discussion about the wiki indicating that migration away from the wiki is expected.

So, my request to the community is two-fold.

  • Is updating the wiki at this point something I should pursue?
  • Does anyone have a link to the original Edubuntu release announcement?

Regards,

Zoltan Ness

In fact, all the Breezy related links on the page land at “page does not exist”.

I found it by clicking on the link and opening in new tab…
Breezy announcement

I went back to look at the referenced page again, and sure enough there is a line stating the

page does not exist

It probably didn’t exist, and bear in mind, it pre-dated the current iteration of the Ubuntu Wiki.

However, with the help of the Wayback Machine, I was able to drudge-up the install notes, which read something like release notes.

@ogra would have more information as he founded the project, even though my wife (@amypenguin) is the current leader.

All I can offer is this

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2005-October/000041.html

Many of the links in that email do not exist anymore though…

Thank you all. @ogra, that was just what I was looking for. The edubuntu announcement was what first attracted me to Ubuntu.
