Black screen when waking from sleep

Ubuntu Version

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

Intel Thinkpad X1 Nano

Desktop Environment (if applicable)

GNOME

Problem Description

Every time I wake my computer from sleep, the screen does not turn on. The keyboard and the power button light up, but nothing happens when I move the mouse, press a key, etc.

Hardware

What I’ve Tried

Disabling virtualization in BIOS

Changing GRUB to include GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=“quiet splash intel_iommu=off”

Most people with this problem have separate Nvidia GPUs but mine is just an integrated graphics card on a laptop.

Try this maybe and make sure your BIOS is up to date.

sudo dmidecode -s product_name
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version

You could also run this, please:

journalctl -b -1 -k | grep -Ei 'drm|i915|xe|gpu|suspend|resume|error|fail'

And welcome to the community @_person_name74 !
