Black screen after resume from sleep (intermittent issue)

I’ve lost data a few times, and one of the hard drives in my machine has started showing signs of failure, which I suspect might be related to these repeated forced shutdowns.

Sounds like the first good place to start, can you replace the drive and see if that helps?
