I didn’t care about too much fonts (quite annoying) until I try to use Dia, this one was so slow (adding a table and editing its proprieties), and I discovered that’s was due to “Too much fonts” !
I tryed to disabled most of non used Noto fonts (Kubuntu 24.04 LTS), was not working…
removing Noto package ? Too much side effects with dependencies…
Finally the best way I found yet is to delete unwanted fonts from /usr/share/fonts/truetype/noto. And now Dia works like a charm.
When you see so many Noto fonts that I don’t need, and also don’t care at all !
May be for guys like Daniel Jackson (SG1) ?
Some say “it allows you to see wrtings in other languages with the wright font and so you don’t have little squares instead !”.
Ok, so when I’m on a website written in russian, chinese, arabic… I see the good character instead of a little sqare… So stupid, answer, I don’t read nor understand this languages so little square are same to me, and online translators don’t care about my fonts !
Is this Noto font problem is solved in 25.04 version ?
