Apache 2.4 on Kubuntu 26.04 LTS Not serving up site outside home network

I am not sure where to go and ask.

Main information:

  • Kubuntu 26.04 Minimal desktop
  • Virtual Box with bridged network
  • Latest version of Maria DB
  • PHP
  • Apache 2.4

I am using Duck DNS. They recommended an installer called zenity, and then you run this script, and sets up the sever to get your public IP every 5 minutes with a cron job. I see the site on my private network. But not from the URL.

I can get what ever information people need. I spent 3 days trying to get this to work. Just tell me what files, are need ed and where they are located, and I can paste them here, removing private information.

There is no Kubuntu 26.x release

Zenity is an open source tool which has a very different purpose; ie. the Wikipedia page can be found here with that definition fitting what my own Ubuntu system describes it as (which is not an installer)

Your installer may in fact use Zenity; but as its a tool only to show data on screen (in a formatted way from terminal), providing link to what you mean (if it’s different) should be provided.

I am on Kubuntu 26.04. LTS.

For Zenity, I do not have a link. It is installed through the CLI, and then run a script you download from https://www.duckdns.org/install.jsp It is best if you log in, as it builds the script with your information. Once the script is run, you enter in your information: website URL and your token. Apply permissions, and turn it into a cron job.

I apologize for giving the apache version, PHP information, maria DB info, and of course the release of Ubuntu that actually exists, when looking at the version inside the OS:https://kubuntu.org/ The version is clearly displayed on their site. Maybe I should have left out the how it was installed as well. Next time I will follow your nitpicky advice and go elsewhere for assistance.

My web server will not work. I just got off the phone with my ISP. They use cgnat. So I will need to tunnel using cloudflare or something else. Or pay for a static IP. This is going to be on hold for now.
