What is the Ubuntu Desktop Team Indaba? Indaba is a South African term for “a conference or consultation between people”. This will be a live stream event, featuring members of the Ubuntu Desktop Team and members of the community. To get a feel for what to expect, you can review the last Indaba event on YouTube from May 28, 2021.
To keep up a consistent cadence of these Indabas, we’ve decided to have them the last Friday of the month, every month. (The actual time of day may change a bit as we work out scheduling kinks that may arise). This week the details are:
We stream to both YouTube and twitch and we see the live chat in both for you to join the discussion and ask any questions of us or our guest. You are also welcome to ask your questions on this thread in advance and we’ll do our best to answer them on air
The thread has a great technical post-mortem but I’m interested in a “process post mortem”: How does the QA for desktop snaps differ from the regular archive and are there any process changes coming to hopefully prevent such regressions in the future.
Given the recent reboot of Snapcrafters, we’ve been discussing how to make sure snaps are well tested before being pushed to users, so any inspiration would be useful.
