Announcing the Ubuntu Desktop Team Indaba (AMA) - April 23, 2021

What is the Ubuntu Desktop Team Indaba? Indaba is a South African term for “a conference or consultation between people”. This will be a live stream featuring members of the Ubuntu Desktop Team and members of the community. We will include special guests from the community as well as take questions from the community via live chat.

While we’re still finalizing the logistics, our first indaba will be Friday April 23, 2021. Stay tuned here for more information on how to participate.

We’re going to discontinue the weekly IRC meeting. Lately it has just been a review of release bugs and proposed migration, which we will be taking to Discourse, where we’ll be posting weekly updates on triaging the release bugs. We welcome feedback on the Discourse posts, as well as comments on the individual bugs we’ve accepted or deferred. By moving the bulk of what we discussed in the weekly IRC meeting to Discourse, we hope to make it easier for more people to stay involved without limiting it to people in compatible time zones and with access to IRC.
