Amdgpu loaded but amdgpu kernel not available?

Problem Description:
I have replaced a NVIDIA graphics card with an AMD one. I have been able to remove all the NVidia drivers and I have my multi-display system working. Everything looks fine, really, but I still want to be sure that I’m getting all the good AMD support the kernel can offer. This is why I checked

I suspect that’s because it can’t find an amdgpu DKMS module (amdgpu is now part of the kernel, no need for a DKMS anymore).

That looks all good. You can purge the listed packages, their not needed anymore.

Is something not working as expected?

You should also get rid of dkms unless you really need it (for hardware that is not supported by the kernel package). If

$ dkms status

doesn’t list anything, you can apt purge dkms.

I don’t have dkms installed. Everything seems to be fine. It’s just that the “Is amdgpu kernel module available? no” message confused me and I thought I was missing something. It’s all good, then!
