Activation of network failed - hard freeze

**
Ubuntu Version**:
Example: 25.10

Desktop Environment
Example: GNOME

Problem Description:
From time to time, I am getting popup with error message “Connection error. Activation of network failed”. At this moment I can dop nothing as it is a hard freeze, not even REISUB works.
I can get this error within minutes after booting, or hours, or not get it at all. Looks too random to me. This started probably about 2 weeks ago, Ubuntu freshly installed - Dec 21, 2025.

Relevant System Information:
I have tried to upload result of wireless-info but it failed
Pastebin failed, error message is: Failed to contact the server: HTTP Error 400: Bad Request.

I also found similar topic, but unfortunately author did not provide any info, and it was closed. So I decide to create a new one.

My hardware:

HP Z2 Mini Workstation G1a:

AMD Ryzen AI Max 395, 128GB RAM, 4TB SSD (WD Black 850x).

Network : Realtek RTL 8125, kernel driver and module - r8169 (2.5G)

Wifi - Mediatek , kernel driver and module - mt7925e

I can provide any other info if required, I would really appreciate any help. I do not want to install from scratch.

Also, I do not want to switch to LTS version, it is too old. Had quite a few problems with it, tested for 1 day and couldn’t use it so reverted back to 25.10.

Did you review the steps for wireless troubleshooting at the Ubuntu site?

It has nothing to help me, unfortunately.

Since I have WiFi and Cable connection, I will disable WiFi and see what happened.

Thanks, it might be that or not. Need to test with WiFi turned off. I’ve been thinking about Realtek 2.5G connection but could be WiFi even if most of the traffic goes via cable.

Ok. After blacklisting wifi I am not getting any more crash/freezes. Will wait until it is fixed. So on Reddit that someone already created a patch to fix problem , but it is not yet upstreamed.
