About the Introductions category

Welcome to Ubuntu Discourse

There are many ways to contribute here even if you are not a developer or programmer (I certainly am not).

Look around and I am sure you will find some niche spot where your particular skills can be put to use.

Hi there - I am a musician and building a studio around Ubuntu, I got sick of Apple and Adobe. I’ve learnt a lot a so far but got some way to go.

After messing around on my old Apple, I went all in buying a newLenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 9
64Gb RAM with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

I got a RME UCX Fireface interface. Though I’m having sound problems which is frustrating. However hopefully I can iron these out by getting some knowledge that isn’t from Chat GPT!

Have you tried Ubuntu Studio?
https://ubuntustudio.org/

Hi there! Yes that’s what I’m using. - 24.1.

My problems are with audio glitches taking place. Part of the issue is the confusion of Pipewire, Pulseaudio, Jack, Plumbwire…

I uninstalled Pulseaudio, however there are still occasional audio glitches.

Other than that I love using studio. but it’s quite a massive problem no being able to rely on the audio. !

Please post a question in the Support and Help category with as much detail as possible.

@eeickmeyer is Ubuntu Studio Lead and I am sure he will be happy to take a look and offer advice.

Hi all! Glad for been part of this community!

Let us know if you need help with anything.

Hi folks,

Joining the community (to find help with problems with my current x870 mobo related problems  )

Welcome to Ubuntu Discourse

Once you have reached the minimum read time you should be able to post in the Support and Help category.

Try to be as specific as possible when describing the problem or use the optional template.

Thanks.

Mind sharing what is the “minimum read time”?

5 minutes and 5 topics.

I believe you have reached both

Thank you. Now the real headache begins.

Hello all, Have been using Ubuntu for a while and now ready to take a more active role in this fantastic project. Currently working in Dubai as the Healthcare Director Middle East, Turkey, and Africa for Dell Technologies. You can find me on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Sounds like an interesting job; do you use Ubuntu at work?

Sorry to mis-use this reply… but I cannot seem to find how I create my own first question to begin with… Nowhere do I see “Create topic” or what do you have…
Am I overlooking something? I find codes of conduct etc etc, but not the button/link for mentioning my question…
Again apologies, but thanks for your help…

The best place to start is by reading some topics here:

Once you have read 5 topics and have 5 minutes reading time you should be able to post a new topic in the Support and Help area:

Check. Thanks! (Would mark this topic ‘solved’ but also have not yet found how to do that…)

Once you start a support topic if you still need help with that, let us know.

(Also not able to scroll to the top of this page, since old mails seem to come up as I scroll up… Never reaching the top.)

Use the home button on the keyboard to jump to the first post in a topic.
