A new Ubuntu wiki, Part 3: Content

Seeing that this topic has been allowed to go off topic I would like to say that I remember Ubuntu Forums. I was a regular, if not an addicted, visitor.

In Ubuntu forums people were indeed told to open their own thread (topic) and not to hijack other people’s threads. Or, to resurrect dead threads. No one complained about answering the same question again and again. People were treated as individuals. Problems might be similar but not actually identical. Open your own thread.

I do not see Ubuntu Discourse - Support and Help as any different. Now, back on topic.

I learnt a lot from the Ubuntu Wiki. It had an human quality about it. I welcome this renewal of the Ubuntu Wiki concept.

My original post was somewhat expansive. Even though it had an emphasis (the wiki), it touched on other topics, as another poster indicated. So I’m partly to blame for the discussion going in different directions. It’s been really interesting for me though and it’s helped me think about the issues further.

I would hope that the new wiki will also have that human element that you mention @graymech .
