This was my first time doing +1 Maintenance. I learned a lot and had some assistance from @ruancomelli and @cad97, two of my teammates on the Ubuntu Rust Toolchain team. They had also not done a +1 Maintenance shift and were shadowing me to learn and understand the processes.
OpenSSL 4 Migration
I wanted to assist with the OpenSSL 4 that @ravi-sharma and @ginggs are driving. I met with Ravi and learned about the migration process and the list of FTBFS packages that needed help.
The next package in the list was swi-prolog. I used Claude to develop a patch which I built and tested. I discovered that I needed to do no-change rebuilds for several of the swi-prolog dependencies which were built in my openssl4-compatibility PPA.
There are open merge proposals on Debian Salsa and Launchpad which I want to get merged soon.
I wanted to work on more packages, but as an Engineering Manager my time was occupied by many meetings and I did not have time for other packages. I will continue learning packaging so that I can be more productive during my next +1 Maintenance shift.
